Joost van der Waay was the first to develop an automatic greenhouse roof washing machine for Venlo greenhouses.
Timeline
Van der Waay has been developing the best machines for cleaning, coating, and repairing greenhouses for many years. We have grown from a start-up in 1989 to a global market leader today. We are quite proud of that!

1990
Van der Waay sells its first greenhouse deck cleaner.
1992
Van der Waay does continue the development of the machines though. Van der Waay uses the customers' feedback to keep developing better machines; the roof cleaners get lighter and more reliable.

2005
2008
Van der Waay develops the predecessor to AquaJet, the indoor washer. Until the advent of the current AquaJet, this indoor washer has undergone many changes.
2010
Van der Waay, in cooperation with AVAG and TNO, is developing a number of standard requirements that a service rail must meet. Requirements are also being set for the maximum allowable weight of machines on the roof.
2010
Van der Waay brings a brush set for the Safety Cart on the market. With this, the predecessor of the Top Cleaner-V is born.
2011
Van der Waay decides not to continue the cooperation with third parties, and enters the market with the Top Cleaner greenhouse roof washer.
2013
Van der Waay introduces the Top Cleaner Poly; a roof cleaner for poly greenhouses.
2014
Van der Waay develops the AquaJet; a machine to clean the inside of the greenhouse. The machine is a real success.
2019
Van der Waay has moved to its new factory and is celebrating its 30th anniversary.
2019
In order to test innovations and new developments, we are putting into use a 1,000 m2 Venlo greenhouse specially adapted for the purpose.
2020
Van der Waay, on behalf of Poot Greenhouse Deck Cleaning, is developing a new model of Top Cleaner, the Model V. This machine fits on the various Venlo axles and can be used with the vents open.
